Leaving Clava we head south for Aviemore. You will have noticed that the skies were quite overcast inthe earlier photos and the neare we came to the Caitngorms the blacker it became. At the bottom of Dalroy road we had to turn left onto the B9154 and immediately opposite the intersection there was a bus shelter, there wasn't a cement mixer, that is courtesy of Google maps. We decided to stop there and have some lunch and put on our wet weather gear. Whilst doing that it bucketed down, I thought I had taken a photo of us but maybe it was Wendy, so in the meantime here is a photo of the lunchshed. Ah, found it Wendy's photo of the shed.
We followed the B9154 until it met up with the A9 and we paralleled the A9 till almost Tomatin, where we moved away passing under the old railway viaduct and then down to the Findhorn bridge. Then back to shadowing the A9. We deviated through Carrbridge, photo at left. From there to Boat of Garten, down to Coylumbridge and into Inverness from the South west, staying the night in the hostel attached to the Old Bridge Inn..Along the way we were confronted with some pretty ferocious wildlife as can be seen in the slideshow at left.
In Aviemore I went and visited the Post House Hotel where megan and I worked in the spring of 1974. When i find my old photos from the I will add them in the Post House slideshow.
