The road into Chablis is old and dingyfor a good reason the area is old. The HQ of the wineryon the right of this picture was founded in 1840, Maison Simonnet-Febvre is a traditional Chablis winery and amongst the oldest in the area. The centre of Chablis is a bit more interesting, we found a cute lttle boulangerie and ate our goodies leaning on the wall of the Église Saint-Martin de Chablis before having a look around. After lunch we headed for Auxerre ( the "x" is pronounc "z" ??). A couple of big hills and then a long downhill run into town, Wendy guided us around the edge of the city and then we dived into the inner city lanes aroumd Christian's home. We went for a walk around the area to acclimatise.
