Regensberg to Straubing

You will notice in the picture I am wearing multiple layers, including a down jacket and my New Zealand rain jacket and beanie, I am in my sleeping bag. it is 9.30 in the morning and freezing.

We eventually decided that if we were going to freeze we may as well be riding as it was too cold to enjoy walking around Regensberg. So we packed up and hit the road, heading for Straubing 40 kms down the Danube.

Two hours down the road and we notice a small bar/hotel that may have been open. We went in through a back door and wandered through corridors eventually coming into a room with tables and a group of a dozen women obviously celebrating.

I ordered sausages and they arrived, there were six of them on the plate, the final two made a great lunch the next day.

Unfortunately we finished the meal and had to get back into our wet weather gear and get back on the road.

We eventually made it to Straubing and found a hotel that would take two drowned water rats. After a hot shower and fresh warm clothes we went down to the restaraunt. There was beef on the menu, we asked what sort of beef and she made a circle with her thumb and forefinger. Ahah, filet mignon, sounds good to me,; when it arrived it was round, it was sausages..again. Ah well , it was hot and filling.
