| At the crossroads of the Loire and the Nohain, Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire has occupied a privileged position since Gallo-Roman times: this bend on the right bank of the Loire was an ideal place to settle and live peacefully without lacking anything. Close to Pouilly-sur-Loire and its renowned wine, the town of Cosne and its surroundings enjoy a remarkable built and natural heritage. |

The picture at left shows the Nohain River joining the Loire. The river itself (middle right hand side) is far more impressive than it apperars in this photo. A pleasant half day can be spent wandering the waterfronts and on Wednesday, Friday & Sundays it joins the markets at the Rue St Agnan. In the walk around town slideshow there is a huge pantech which is how markets are run these days. |
