Vienna Tourist Map

10th June 2016

The Ringstrasse (coloured yellow) is a circular grand boulevard that serves as a ring road around the historic Innere Stadt district of Vienna, Austria. The road is located on sites where medieval city fortifications once stood. Inside the Ringstrasse there are very few cars with many wide pedestrian only boulevards. At the centre of this is St. Stephens cathedral, at 136.4 m, the South Tower, known as ‘Steffl’, is the cathedral’s highest tower. The cathedral stands in the middle of a large square known as Stehenplatz which has two large pedestrian shopping boulevards running to the west and the south.

Starting at the top right hand corner and heading south is Stubenring This changes to Park Ring and then Schubertring.

The road then turns west on Kartner Ring, bends to the north of Opernring, then Burgring.

Then heads north on Dr Karl Jrenner Ring and then University Ring, before heading North East on Shottenring down to the Danube Canal.
